Happy Teachers’ Day 2021: Shikshak Parv date


Teachers Day is marked as the birth anniversary of our great scholar, philosopher, first vice-president, and the second president of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Radhakrishnan was born to a Brahmin family in Tiruttani, Andhra Pradesh, in the year 1888. He completed his studies, achieving scholarships despite coming from an impoverished family.

He then completed his Master’s degree in philosophy and wrote a book ‘The Philosophy of Rabindranath Tagore’ in 1917. He positioned Indian philosophy on the world map and taught at Chennai’s Presidency College and Calcutta University.

He was a popular teacher amongst his students during his teaching career. In his later period of life, he served as a Vice-Chancellor of Andhra and Banaras Hindu University and was acknowledged by Oxford University to fill the chair of Spalding Professor of Eastern religions.

Shikshak Parv

The Ministry of Education has organised this year's ‘Shikshak Parv’ from September 5 to 17,2021. The event will be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi online on September 7.

The State Teachers Union has claimed that more than 20,000 teachers of standard six to eight languages ​​and sociology have downloaded hall tickets. This day is an important event for both teachers' and students' lives. They equally look forward to this day. This day makes the students understand the importance of teachers in their lives and they honour them with celebration and little presents from their side.

Birth anniversary of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan

In India, September 5 is marked as Teacher's Day, whereas Worlds Teacher's Day is celebrated on October 5. As mentioned above, it is the birth anniversary of Dr. Radhakrishnan who served as the first Vice president from 1952-1962 and later the second president of India from 1962-1967.
